a number of后接什么

后面接可数名词复数。a number of接了可数名词复数做主语时，谓语用复数。a number of：若干，一些，许多。强调多，相当于a lot of。the number of ……的数量。说明……的数字或是数量。They have retrained a number of young technicians for our factory.

a number of表示“许多”,相当于many,修饰可数名词复数.作主语时,谓语动词用复数.number前可用large,small等修饰,以表示程度.例如：

（2）the number of :

意为“......的数量”

后加可数名词复数。

作主语时，谓语动词用单数。

eg:The number of students in my class is fifity.

(我的班里有五十个学生。)

4.需要注意的是：

the number of“......的数量”,它是一个整体，所以谓语动词用了单数，

而a number of相反，他的意思是许多，谓语动词用复数。
